I’m Iqbal, but you can call me Q. I graduated with honours from UBC’s Sauder School of Business, specializing in finance.
I started my career in investment banking at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto, where I worked on transactions including the take-private of Home Capital Group.
From there, I joined Beedie Capital in Vancouver, investing across private credit, private equity, and public equities. My work included the take-private of Think Research, debt investments, and helping portfolio companies create value.
Today, I work in corporate development at Clarity (formerly Hiive) - a rapdily growing and premier Vancouver-based start-up.
I started ISG Invests to share what I’ve learned and make alternative investments more approachable - how they work, what the risks are, and where they might fit in a portfolio.
